The Conservative Party
The Conservative and Unionist Party exists to help individuals and businesses to thrive in their own right. We will do this by limiting the role of government in our everyday lives, cutting taxes like Stamp Duty and Business Rates, reducing the debt, supporting aspiration, and supporting the next generation into work. We believe in the United Kingdom. We will take back our streets from crime, defend our borders robustly and unlock the prosperity of our country.
Under the leadership of Kemi Badenoch MP, we form His Majesty's Most Loyal Opposition. We are firmly standing up against the disastrous Labour government and fighting for the British people, both in Parliament and across the country.

Ely and East Cambridgeshire Conservative Association
The Ely and East Cambridgeshire Conservative Association (locally known as 'East Cambs Conservatives') represents the Conservative Party across the Parliamentary constituency of Ely and East Cambridgeshire. This includes all of East Cambridgeshire District, plus Milton & Waterbeach and Cottenham wards from South Cambridgeshire District.
It was founded after the Parliamentary boundary changes in 2024, succeeding South East Cambridgeshire Conservative Association, where we supported Francis Pym, Sir Jim Paice and Lucy Frazer KC to serve the constituency in the House of Commons. The constituency covers a wide range of local businesses, from farming to cutting-edge technology firms, set in the low-lying landscape of the Fens.
We won the election to East Cambridgeshire District Council in May 2023. Together, under the leadership of Cllr Anna Bailey and the Chairmanship of Cllr Kelli Pettitt, and working with an Independent colleague, we form a majority group which is in Administration of the Council and decides how it should carry out its functions. The Council appoints various representatives to organisations across the District. Cllr Anna Bailey is Deputy Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough under Conservative Mayor Paul Bristow. You can read more about our work at East Cambs District Council by visiting our Councillors page: https://www.eastcambsconservatives.co.uk
We also have 1 councillor on Cambridgeshire County Council, Cllr Mark Goldsack, who is a member of the Main Opposition to the Liberal Democrat Administration and holds them to account on the Highways and Transport Committee.
We are also represented by the Conservative Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Paul Bristow, whose election we supported in 2025 in a stunning gain from Labour, and the local Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner, Darryl Preston. Cllr Anna Bailey is the Deputy Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
We believe very strongly in keeping Council Tax low (we've frozen the East Cambs element for 13 years straight, with no debt, and no cuts thanks to income from our trading company), providing free town centre parking, supporting community-led affordable homes for local people and supporting local businesses. We have invested millions into community infrastructure projects over the years and plan to continue this legacy.
The Association exists to:
- Promote the Conservative cause within the constituency;
- Campaign to elect a Conservative Member of Parliament and Conservative councillors;
- Raise funds for the Conservative Party and the Association;
- Organise local political and social activities;
- Select the prospective parliamentary candidate;
- Select local government candidates.
The Association is run on a day-to-day basis by the officer team, who are elected once a year at the Annual General Meeting by all members, and our Organising Secretary. Decisions are made by an Executive Council, made up of members and the officer team.
